about 20 years ago I read about using crushed, grinded tires to mix in with the asphalt to extend the life of the road, leading to less cracking, the tires rolling upon the road would wear less, salt would not deteriorate the road, etc. THere seemed to be no logical reason to NOT use this addition, let alone the savings in the material cost and reduction to the land-filling of one of the worst examples of pollution the USA has in its fields. Any ideas from you professionals why the heck we don’t use this?
